Craig Gallagher
Managing Director

Craig Gallagher is the Managing Director of elmtree consulting services. When he is not leading his team up the Victorian Alps for charity, Craig’s responsibilities cover financial management, operational management, systems and processes, and leading middle managers within the company.

With over 20 years experience in the ICT (Information and Communications Technology) industry, Craig commenced his career with Telstra and worked in a variety of technical roles in voice switching before moving to a programming and database management role then a systems administration role. He managed a number of complex projects within a team delivering solutions to a national user base within Telstra.

Craig co-founded elmtree consulting services in 1997 and has worked in a variety of technical and management roles for over 10 years. The experience that Craig gained over this time includes technical and financial project management, IT systems consultancy, business intelligence /business reporting. He graduated with a B.Sc (Comp) degree from RMIT (Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology) in 1991.

Craig’s vision is for elmtree to continue to “offer quality IT solutions across a broad range of products and technologies and build our reputation as the IT supplier of choice for mid market businesses”. 

Mal Everett
Technical Director 

Mal is co founder and owner of elmtree. In his role as Technical Director, Mal is responsible for Infrastructure Architecture and Design, Project Management and service delivery methodologies with both the Service Team and customers of elmtree.  He has amassed over 25 years of technical and professional expertise and has held management and consultancy roles in IT with our largest corporations in the country - be they Telco's, Hospital, University or Manufacturing.

Mal is known as an entertaining public speaker, educator and presenter. His background in IT is almost as expansive as his knowledge during the lunch time quiz at elmtree! Mal graduated from the University of Melbourne in 1982 with B.Sc in Physics, Mathematics and Computer Science and received a Graduate Diploma in Computer Engineering from RMIT in 1984.

Mal has always had a special interest in large operating systems and performance tuning reflected in his specialties in virtualisation, thin computing, highly available computing and messaging systems. He is a VMware VCP & VTSP, Citrix CCA and Microsoft MSCE.

Mal says: “At elmtree we are helping our customers achieve reliable and manageable IT. We train our staff, and align our internal systems, processes and procedures to best deliver solutions to you.”

Mal’s interests include the Irish Fiddle, Squad swimming and long distance running.
